Escalante

True to the Spanish root of the word, the remodel of the Escalante flat was gently “scaled” like a terraced slope to create functional beauty while blending the disparate tastes of the owners. Focusing mainly on the living areas and master bedroom, the challenge was to create a richer feel by delineating the spaces.

Refurbished flooring in the living and dining areas combined with a warm, soft color palette enabled the ceiling trays to define the areas through the rich tones and textures mimicking the near-beach locale. Lavishly textured rugs and fabrics, dark wood tones and metallic hues in the furnishings and accessories complimented the blossoming art collection displayed upon the walls.

Carrying the elements into the bedroom, rich cerulean blue walls paired with navy accents and beaded chandeliers provided depth and allure. By combining modern, geometric patterns and details with traditionally-inspired elements and furnishings, the home is now a perfect coastal dwelling with a decidedly transitional twist.
